Just my two cents....
Hi everyone! This is my first post but I lurk here everynight! LOVE all the different opinions and personalities from everyone. After reading the dollar bills post I wanted to share with you how I do it. I buy a big can of tomato sauce. I get a straight screwdriver and hammer. I make a slit in the top of the can (while holding a napkin over it so it doesn't splatter all over) I drain out all the tomato sauce and freeze for later use. I rinse it out with water and let it air dry for 2 days upside down. There's my piggy bank!!!! I obviously need a can opener when I want to spend it and that takes some SERIOUS THOUGHT!! I only open it when I know what I'm going to use it for and do what I say right then and there. I have gotten down to just quaters, SOME rebate checks (you'll have to remember the dates before they expire, or put it in marker on the outside of the can) and any bills I can spare. I ALWAYS come out with at least $200! Hope I helped someone!back to lurking.........

First of all, welcome to FV!

I always thought that I'd save more if I had a bank that was hard to get into and this is a great tip. Thank you!

Great tip. I'm always starting jars of change and small bills only to find I can't keep anyone's hand out of it. And yes
sometimes it's even my own hand.
