    Default dryer lint trap

i just heard this, and looked at mine. if you use dryer sheets the waxy stuf can clog you dryer lint trap, that cuts down on the way it works. take it out, rinse it under water , if water goes thru freely you are in good shape, if it appears clogged then scrub it , i guees this also becomes a saftey hazard it can cause fires. mine was ok, i only use about a third of a sheet.

    Good to know.
I don't use dryer sheets but will pass it on.

My dryer was taking about a hour and a half to dry clothes. We had someone in to look at it and he said we had not much lint in the hose it was a fire hazard. The people before us never cleaned the trap out I guess.

I used to fix washers/dryers for Sears.

Lint build up in your hoses can be a real fire hazard. A woman burned to death in a house fire a few months ago in Boston, started by dryer lint. It doesn't matter how big the dryer sheets are when you use them, the lint and other stuff builds up.

After I heard about the fire in Boston, I made DH take the dryer hose completely off and I cleaned it, removing all the lint I could get a hold of. Our hose is long and big, which made this fairly easy.

Do yourself a favor, don't think this can't happen to you. It isn't all at once, it isn't how big your loads are, it's cumulative: a little this load, a little next, and....
