I'm a stay at home mom with a 5 year old and a 10 month old. It feels like I'm always cleaning. I haven't signed up for emails and I doubt I will but I have started looking at her website. I'm hoping to become more efficient! The only thing I've added in is shining the sink. I've been doing this about a week and it has been having some positive effects. The sink is always clean, which is nice. I clean as I cook and dishes either get washed immediately or they go directly in the dishwasher. Since I've started doing this, my husband and my 19 year old BIL have been keeping the sink empty too. They don't want to be the one that messes up the sink. Of course, this may be only temporary but it is nice so far!

I love Flylady. It works for me. Even my DH noticed a difference in the way the house looked. The thing that I like about it is my house looks clean but I don't feel like I spend all day cleaning it like I used to. I don't have to worry about burning myself out with cleaning.
Married to DH since 2001

I have used the website and emails before but I found that all of the emails just "clutter up" my inbox. It seemed like the opposite of the objective. I unregistered but still do most of the daily routines.

I think like anything you take what you need and adjust it to your lifestyle.
I no longer wait until a certain day to clean the entire house. I do one room at a time when it needs it. I don't have a certain day to do anything other than laundry as it just works out that way.
Every night I pick up and clean off my counters before bed. Just small daily routines really help to keep things neat and clean.
I've also done the MissesSmartyPants and Saving Dinner. I have gotten useful tips from all of them.Judy

The daily and weekly routines are pretty overwhelming for me as they're written because of how I work. I'm not going to say you can't do Flylady if you work full time, but you're going to have to modify them for your house, belongings, and family size.
Someone earlier asked how organization and frugal lifestyle could coexist. You must replace the way you think about "stuff" in your house. Every knickknack you own is not a potential moneysaver, particularly if it's broken and awaiting repairs (for how long now?), if you own multiples of it, or if the quantity of your belongings creates stress and you never can find what you're looking for anyway (and end up buying another version of what you already own).
Now, I can't say that your belongings fall into any of those categories, so please don't feel angry with me for saying that. However, there are some times when the "saving" mindset can verge dangerously close to hoarding. FlyLady encourages you to "bless" others with your excess stuff -- whether it's outgrown, out of style, or there's no need for it. The idea is that if you save it for a rainy day or garage sale, you'll never make any progress towards cleaning your home; further, there's value in the peace you'll find when your home is clean, and many people experience sort of a "karma" effect where, even if they get rid of an item they later need, someone has the same thing to give to them or allow them to borrow down the road.
Now, if you have items that you know you'll need in the foreseeable future and they are stored neatly in a closet, obviously this advice doesn't apply to you! However, I found this idea helped me, and it also reduces the nonessential "stuff" I drag into the house, too. HTH!

I like the flylady system, but as others have mentioned the e-mails are too much. I do as others and just check the site. I tend to go back and forth following her system. Right now, I need to get back on track.
For me, getting dressed to the shoes helps me so much. I makes me want to do something, instead of just set around on the computer or t.v.2010 Challanges:

I have to agree with the emails. I unregistered myself, as well. I also agree with the 'to the shoes'. It helps a Lot!
Last night I make my sink shine. Today I will be doing the daily zone because it just happens to coincide with what needs to be done for me, today...lol. I do think her system is really useful. I apply it where it works for me and discard the rest!

Oh, and I am stoked to find her vacation and packing tips being that I leave for Toronto on Saturday. I'm feeling MUCH more in control and less apt to be running around like a chicken with my head cut off...lol.
