    Lightbulb any ideas

i have some old work uniforms - just basic black trousers that are needed to be thrown out, but i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what i could use them for or to make other items out of them as i have quite a lot and dont really want to waste them all.
any ideas or tips would be great. thanks

Hmm.....what kind of fabric are they?

Do you quilt? Sew? Some things I make out of scrap-fabric are:

Pot holders (hot pads or whatever you say) for cooking.

Quilting if its the right type of fabric

    Making aprons

    Teapot cozies (covers)

    toaster covers

If it was a fabric I couldn't use for anything else, I have a big box I put those in, and make strips and use to make braided or crocheted 'rag' rugs. (mostly for our cabin)

they are 67% polyester and 33% cotton

the fabric seems quite strong, they all have zips so i could make little bags out of them, and just put detail on them.

hmm, maybe a small makeup bag for an xmas present

Bean bags? I have two kids and teach many. DH is using old ratty jeans for bean bags for the corn hole games he is making as Christmas gifts.

I use my old uniform pants for gardening/chore/painting pants. I go through them pretty quickly that way!

I would like to suggest one thing to coffee lovers have a coffee daily. Many people think that getting addicted spoils the health. Being a coffee lover coffee is the World's Most Popular Drink and having twice in a day would refresh the mind and help us to concentrate on work.

I'd use a pair or two to make this years front yard scarecrow. For the fall season theres nothing like a scarecrow in the front yard. Or a gool for Halloween.

LOL That was going to be my suggestion. Or frankenstien, dracula.

I wonder how hard it would be to cut them and sew them up to make your own grocery bags? If you just took out the seams in the legs, then sewed the fronts together and the backs together, cut it to the size you needed. Make some strips for handles. Then you would have washable, reusable, shopping bags.

If they are still in wearable condition, I would donate them to a thrift store. There just might be a woman out there desperately needing black pants for her job, and maybe she does not have the money to buy new ones (I have been there).

wow never thought of that, could be very good as our stores have stopped giving out plastic bags or they charge you in some places, hmm, put a cardboard insert in the bottom and they should be okay to carry not-so-heavy items, i also have some leftover fabric i could use to add to it.

what would you suggest for handles so they are strong enough to cart around the store or to the front door at least?
