Default A little salt'll clean it

I tired this tip recently and found it to work quite well- sorry if it's a repeat here:

To remove coffee stains inside a coffee mug or the coffee carafe, simply pour some table salt on a damp sponge and scrub gently- the stain will come right up.

Made our carafe look like new again1

Two years ago my son did a "salt as a cleaner" for his fifth grade project. He showed how you use it for cleaning up a dropped raw egg, using it to clean cast iron cookware, etc. But I have never used it to clean out coffee stains. Thanks.

Works on copper too, like copper bottoms of pots and pans. I mix it with lemon juice, and scrub.

WHen I worked in a gas station, we always cleaned our coffee pots with salt and ice. Fill up the coffee pot about 1/4 of the way with ice, dump in the salt and shake it around until clean, then rinse with water...works like a charm!

I have always used bicarb soda to clean my coffe mugs. works great.
I must remember the salt though for when I'm low on bicarb and want to keep it for baking.
I saw the salt and raw egg this years ago and have used it many times (especially when the kids were little and would help with baking)in the past.
    Great tip thanks.
