    Default Yuck-mildewy/moldy stroller

I left my daughter's stroller outside under our carport and its got yucky black spots on it. I took the cover off the frame and washed it twice. It didn't help at all. What can I use to get this off?

Oooh, i'd like to know this too. We've had some major problems in our basement lately with sewer backing up, plus when it rains too much we have water in the one corner. If something gets left on the floor we usually have to throw it out because washing does not work.

chlorox bleach, a good rinse and let to air dry.
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

I heard that vinegar got out mold in clothing ...

I washed a couple of my daughter's outfits that had been left outside in it about four times with the recommened amount (I think it was 1/4 cup) and it did get most of it out.

Then, I mixed 1/4 cup vinegar with some water and let it soak overnight, then took a hard bristle brush and got more of it out.

Then I rewashed them, with clorox2, and there was a tiny spot left on a couple of the clothes. But I was ok with that.

Then ... when she was wearing an outfit the day after I got it cleaned off ... she spilled ravioli on it ... which I canNOT get out. LOL.

    Good luck.

I also heard that spraying a vinegar/water combo and letting it sit in the sunshine will work. But, I didn't try that.

    Goodluck!

I soaked the spots in vinegar and then washed, but didn't have any luck. I read today about putting on vinegar and salt and letting it dry in the sun. Maybe I'll try that if the Shout doesn't work . . . I'll keep you guys updated. In the mean time, I will be much more careful with items costing lots of $$$$!

I've used a little water/bleach mix before. It works.

Yep. Chlorine bleach is the only thing I know to combat mildew. I use it on shower curtains a lot.

I have used a bathroom-type cleaner for mildew and that has worked well.

I recently treated a pair of Birkenstocks that were in the closet and had acquired mold.

    2 cups of hot water
    1 tsp borax
    3 tbsp white vinegar

Put in a spray bottle and shake. Spray the item down. Let it sit, in the sun if possible, then scrub and rinse.

It worked quite well for my sandals.
