Default Uses for baby and toddler socks

I went through a couple of sock drawers for my youngest two kids this morning. There are a lot of socks that didn't have matches and I'm about ready to throw them out. Does anyone have any ideas on how to re-use them. I'm not sure that I can fit my hand in them for cleaning purposes. Thanks!

Thanks for those links. I have the same dilemma with Paige's socks. The one's that still have matches I put aside for baby #2 but the ones that don't have a mate I keep wondering if she could use them herself when she wants to help me clean on the weekends. Also, she made sock puppets at day care last winter and now she wants to make sock babies for them....lol

I use baby socks to cover the hot things in my car - like the gear shift and the glow plug pull. My mechanics lauched their head off when they first saw them, and then asked me where to buy them when I came back to pick the car up :-)

Mine got demoted to teddy bear socks. The four year old is in heaven with a dress up bear. Teddy got the old stained dresses too.

Here's a thought....down here in the south we have St. Augustine grass and it harbors CHIGGERS! They are nasty little no-seeums that jump up yur legs and plant themselves in your skin at UN ladylike places on your body to make you ITCH!!! Take a baby sock qnd fill it with sulfer to dust your feet and calves with BEFORE you step in the yard. Works pretty well to keep them off of you.

If you have cats, you could make toy mice for them. Fill them with a bit of filler (lint from your dryer, a bit of pillow stuffing) and some catnip. Then sew it up and you're done.

    My cats love these.

Zac uses baby socks that Wesley has outgrown/stained/lost a mate to polish his boots for his police uniform. He used to use my washclothes!
