Getting a smell off your hands...
My grandma taught me that if you get a smell on your hands, such as onion, garlic or anything, you can take a case knife and put it under running warm water and rub your hands across it while it's under the water, and the smell will be completely gone. I thought she was joking when she told me this, but it really works! Try it!!

Yes..it works! I learned that long ago...don't remember where I heard it...but we use a big stainless steel spoon instead.

My mother taught me to rub my hands on the kitchen faucet after washing with soap but before turning off the water.
Works like a charm every time...

OK I don't remember the exact reason scientifically but it is because something in the metal is the only thing that can cut those particular acids such as garlic.....I have just ran my hands on the stainless steel skillet before I use it and it does work!!
I don't explain it well scientifically, but thats the laments explanation ROFLMAOProud wife to Randy
