Make Your Own Cleaning Products
Please help out this newbie!...
I want to take a more natural (and cheaper!) cleaning route. I noticed another poster stating "I make my own everyday cleaners with simple baking soda, vinegar, bleach, water or lemon juice." Could you please post your recipes for various cleaning products? Please include amounts if possible...don't just say baking soda and water if you can be more specific. Thanks!
To clean my floors, I use about 1/2 cup of vinegar in 1/2 a pail of hot water. (That's the only natural things I know.)
As well as your other "recipes", please let me know how you clean soap scum off bathroom doors or walls? Thanks again! An obstacle is what comes up when you lose sight of your goal.

For fabric softener I mix 1 1/2 cups vinegar, 3 cups of water and 1 cup of your favorite hair conditioner. I put it in a downey ball and throw in the washer. The clothes are really soft, even when line dried. My mom puts the fabric softener in a spray bottle and sprays a wash cloth until damp and then throws it in the dryer, instead of dryer sheets.

Quick Toilet Cleaner :
One Denture Tablet.
Let dissolve in water. Clean with scrubber.
Oven cleaner:.
Salt sprinkled on half a lemon is a great scrubber. (effective rust remover too)
Vinegar and water in a spray bottle cleans windows and mirrors too.
1 c vinegar fill the rest of the bottle with water.
I have also heard of adding ammonia but that is too strong for me.
Borax: Cleans Carpet Stains: Mixed with 1/4 part Lemon Juice, it cleans Stainless Steel and Porcelain)
