The tale of the Ginsu and th eGerber spoon
Now that I have your attention, I will let you know that, YES, these things really ARE germane to my tale!
I have had two supposedly empty bottles of lotion turned upside down in a large mug for a couple of months. I KNEW they weren't all the way empty because I cold feel the lotion in the bottles when I squeezed them, but it was below the level of the straw for the pump. Soo, since I was home sick today, I decided to get the and empty them into another bottle that had just become "empty".
I had planned to use a small spatula to clean them out, but quickly discovered that it wouldn't fit into the neck of the bottle. I saw I could get a Gerber long-handled baby spoon into it and started spooning the stuff into the fullest bottle. It wasn't long before I couldn't reach any more with my spoon, so I grabbed my trusty Ginsu-style knife and cut the end off the bottle. I used a spatula to finish cleaning the bottles out this way.
When I was finished, I had about 1/3 of a 24.5 oz bottle filled from my "empty" ones. Can you imagine just how much lotion gets wasted every day in this country because people won't take a minute to get creative in getting the final bit out?
