Default Oatmeal not just for breakfast anymore!!

Here is a very good recipe useing oatmeal as the main guest at the dinner table.

Veggie burgers>>> men will LOVE or learn to LOVE lol

the recipe will make around 14 saucer sized burgers, left overs are great for the lunchboxes .

    you will need

    5 stalks of celery
    1 to 1 1/2 large onion
spices of any kind to your liking
    5 eggs
4 to 5 bullion cubs, beef or chicken flavord
Place in blender and blend untill smooth.

In a large bowl place 5 cups of rolled oats, any kind will do, then add your mixture from the above, mix well let mixture set for 15 mins, then pat burgers into size you want, fry in small amount of oil of choice untill well browned. Place oat burgers in a 9x13 dish and top with cream of mushroom soup mixed with 2/3rds can milk or water and pour over top of burgers. I use the old rue and milk with left over bits from the salad crisper, for the mushroom soup mix. Bake at 350 for 35 mins. let burgers sit for 10 mins then serve.

    Rue mix
1/2 stick of butter or margerine, add and sautee mushrooms or cheese or any left over bits and peices from last weeks menue. then add 2 1/2 TB flour , stir untill flour browns a bit and smells nutty, add 2 cups milk,( I use well chilled powdered milk for this) stir over medium heat untill thickend.

This sounds great..going to copy it! I also add a handful of oatmeal to my chili, veg soup, and sloppy joes. Oatmeal is extra fiber!

I never thought of adding oatmeal to sloppy joes. Not only extra fiber, it will stretch out the recipe a little. Thanks!
