2 frugal questions.....
How many times do you use your coffee grounds?
My washer has 4 timed settings....18min/14min/10min/6min. What is the purpose and does one clean better than another????
Thanks for any help!!

Coffee grounds: once, but I'm a coffee snob.

Settings: I use the "normal" setting on my wash. It also has heavy, light, delicate, and rinse. I suspect your timed settings are similar and it would just depend on how soiled your laundry load is and how long you want it to agitate.DH aka Mad Hen

for coffee grounds, we only use them once, but....we rarely make coffee since DH is the only one that drinks it and is rarely home
The longer washer setting would be for dirtier/heavier loads I would assume. Mine only has settings for cold, warm, hot, and rinse (separate section for permanent press), with cold being the shortest cycle and hot being the longest cycle.Starlight

I usually only use my coffee grounds once b/c I only make 1 pot per day. If I were making more than 1 pot, and if Gripey wasn't going to be drinking it (he doesn't like re used grounds) I'd reuse them a couple of times just adding to them.
As for the washer. I use the longer time on mine when washing sheets, underclothes and towels and really soiled clothing. Otherwise I use the shorter times.

My washer has timer and type of wash. I use normal and only wash clothes for 10 minutes. BUT we do not have really dirty laundry. If I did, I'd presoak and then wash for 10 minutes in cold first...then gradually go for warmer water, rather than longer washing. But that's just me.
I don't drink coffee, so can't help you there.

We drink coffee every morning here. When it is time for a new pot (the same morning) we just add a little more grounds to it!
I only use the longer time settings on my washing machine for loads that are extremely soiled/dirty.

We'll have one fresh coffee pot in the mornings because hubby is the coffee "snob" round here!!! I will make a second pot about 1/2 way through the day, and I just add a heaping scoop to whats already there.....when hubby gets home, he drinks it and does not know the difference anyhow!!!
My washer has a 30 and a 15 minute soak cycle, I normally just wash things in cold and soak for 15 minutes unless they are hubby's greasy clothes then I use a can of coke in the wash, set it to hot and use the heavy cycle that cleans em like a charm!Proud wife to Randy

I use the lowest setting on our washer, which is 8 minutes. Our clothes are never really super dirty, and they come out nice and clean!
As for coffee, I can't help you there because we don't drink it!

I don't drink coffee but DH does. He only uses them once.
Washer - I have several different cycles. I usually use the express wash and it's about 34 minutes. We have a whitest whites and that is like 79 minutes - only use that occasionally with the whites. It's a Kenmore Elite Oasis with canyon capacity - no center agitator. I LOVE my washer. Now, if only I had a dryer. That will be fixed next Spring.
I will buy a really really cheap one. Only use it on occasion too but at least it will be available when needed. I get tired of going to the laundry to dry things. Sometimes it takes too long to dry inside the house.

Coffee grounds - once, sometimes twice if I am just adding water to an already brewed pot (we use a percolater)
I always use the 6 minute setting on mine as no one has a particulary dirty job around here and we use bleach (or OXY stuff) for sheets, underwear and socks.

We don't drink coffee so we don't recycle at all lol.
For the wash I use the longer time for towels, dh's work clothes, and sheets. Mostly the other laundry isn't really that dirty so the short time works just fine. I wash everything in cold except the items mentioned which are washed in warm.
