    Default Bread sacks!

Okay, this is an old-timers tip, but a revelation for me. We go through a loaf of bread a day, and I finally started wiping out the bags and re-using them. This has drastically reduced my use of ziplock bags. They work great for muffins, pancakes, homemade bread, etc.

I save my cereal bags and use them for muffins and stuff.

In addition to bread sacks I also save the clear plastic bags that I put fruit and veg in at the store. I empty the bags when I get home so they dont get condensation in them from being in the fridge.

I save these too and usually bring them back to re-use them at my next shopping trip.

When we were kids we used to use them to help put our boots on in the winter. Slide your foot in the bag & then woosh your foot slides in the boot. Helps keep feet dry too, lol.

We throw some in the freezer. When we need to take a lunch somewhere, the boys will make sandwiches and put them in an old breadsack from the freezer. Then, we either bring it home adn recycle it or pitch it if we are out somewhere where we can't keep it. Because of how are activities are, they have to take sandwiches a few times a week. And, I love it because the sandwiches fit so well in the breadsacks.

We also store muffins and such in the freezer. It is convenient for a travel breakfast for the crew. I freeze how many we think we need for a meal in a breadsack. Then, we just grab a bag and hop in the car. They are also good for snacks for long car trips.

I use them to pick the cat box. Ever since I started using my own grocery bags, I don't have the plastic one's to use. So, I started using the bread bags.

I use them and the clear bags from the stores when I buy vegetables to pack meat portions, blanched vegetables or fruits for my smoothies.

Only problem I have with re-wrapping food/sandwiches in them is the dye used on the printing of the bags. So, now I use them when I take the dog for a walk.

But the printing is on the outside of the bag.
So I wouldn't think it would come in contact with your food?
    Am I wrong?

The print will come off on food, just make sure you use the inside its very safe.
I always bake bread 10 loaves at a time. I cool it and put it in old bread bags as a way to freeze it. It works great, and saves so much. I even have family memebers save me their store bought bread bags!

I had always used them to pack lunches in but had never thought to use them with my bacon. I love that idea!!!
