Baby's First Xmas Ornament
Wish I could take credit for this one, but have to admit I saw it on my friend's tree last week:
Instead of buying a 'baby's first' ornament, or going without, when you buy/cut down your tree, slice a thin clean slice off the end. Drill a hole at the top, run ribbon through it, write '(name') 1st Xmas with sharpie. You could get craftier and glue on little bits and bobs or write with colors or what have you- memorializing baby's first Xmas without spending the outrageous prices many companies charge for an ornament denoting the occasion. No need to do any special finishing, will last many years as is.
Happy Holidays!

That's brilliant! Too bad we use a fake tree.

That's a neat idea! Would be a neat yearly thing if you had a real tree every year.

That is a cute idea, we have an artificial tree. Maybe my mom would cut a piece from her tree next year and I can wood burn my baby's first Christmas ornament. More than likely I will end up buying one or receiving way too many as gifts next Christmas.

My granny has our baby socks on her tree as ornaments from our first Christmases. You could take a sock, slip a hook through it, and tie a ribbon on if you wanted to.

That is a great idea! Since my son and his wife are having a baby next year, I am going to do just that!
