Thanks, Patty A for starting this thread!
There are some great recipes & ideas here!!
As for the person asking about the granola bar recipe?
This is one that is super popular around my house:
(It was printed from the FrugalFamilies.com website)
Chewy Granola Bars
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
2 Tblsp. honey
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
1 1/4 cups crispy rice cereal (store brand works just fine)
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 cup raisins or chocolate chips (also optional, but I usually use the chocolate chips)
In a mixing bowl, cream butter & sugars together.
Add honey, vanilla & egg; mix well.
Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture.
Stir in oats, cereal and nuts.
Add raisins or chocolate chips.
Press into a 9x13 greased pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until just starting to brown on top.
Here is a recipe for Bisquick mix, taken from Recipezaar.com:
5 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3 Tblsp. baking powder
1 cup vegetable shortening
Mix ingredients until crumbly.
Keep in a sealed container on shelf until ready to use.
Taco Seasoning Dry Mix:
(Have not tried this one yet, but I have it in my file to use once my container of mix is all gone)

Momto2Boyz I tried your pancake syrup a while back and I love it. The only thing I noticed is when I turned it off right after it started to boil it was very thin, even after refrigeration. I put it back on and boiled it for a couple of minutes and it got thick like King's Syrup. Being from the Midwest you probably don't know what that is but it is a very rich and thick pancake syrup.
My DH just loves this syrup. I will never buy store bought again! Even King's when I am back east. This is that good. Thanks!Last edited by Spikey1341; 01-07-2009 at 11:18 AM.

Try adding a little cayenne to your hot cocoa mix if you like things spicy. - or just add about 1/8 teaspoon per cup when you make it up.
