A nice article to share with friends who are looking for a place to start cutting back. Covers the basics of skipping the fancy coffee, buying generic, buying in bulk, etc.

Good article for the basics! Thanks for sharing!

DH and I used to get coffee from coffee shops (on occassion), but now we buy the more expensive flavored coffees (we like Eight O'Clocks whole bean french vanilla), and when I make a pot, I add one third of the expensive coffee and 2/3's regular ground coffee (folgers, hills bros....whatever, I have bought onsale) and it makes a great flavorful pot of coffee without the expense of just using the flavored coffee! And it keeps us out of the coffee shops!

One thing I never see mentioned is to eat the right amount of food. If you're not overeating, you're saving money because you're using less food. Really, it's true.

Now if I can just get that concept into my head and get it translated to my plate...

I do that too! I find many of the flavored coffees are a bit TOO flavored.

Thanks for this tip... I love coffee and the better flavored coffee, but do not buy the more expensive varieties because they don't last long enough to justify the cost! Mixing with my regular ground coffee sounds like a great idea and I will try it soon!
