Default Several Doc's Tips Coming Your Way

Breast Cancer And Bras May Have A Link

A study has revealed a causative factor for breast cancer, that can increase your risk of getting the disease by 100 times. Wearing a bra for more than 12 hours a day can cause unwanted. problems.
Studies showed a woman who wears a bra 24 hours a day is 113 times, more likely to get breast cancer than a woman ,who wears a bra less than 12 hours a day.
A woman who never wears a bra, is 21 times less likely to get breast cancer, than the woman in the general population.
The statistics is stronger than the link between cigarette smoking and lung cancer.
The straps, side panels, underwires, and other structures of the garment cut off drainage from the lymphatic system, which helps remove toxins from and waste products from the cells. The longer you wear a bra, the more hours those toxins are trapped in the breasts. The end result after many years of bra use, can be a breast tumor.
So my advice is to wear bras as little as possible.
No wires , push up bras, or other stiff breast shaping components.
When selecting a bra be sure it is the right size. Not too tight when you try it on. You should be able to slide two fingers under the shoulder straps, and side panels. If the bra fits properly your fingers should slide easily. The bra shouldn’t leave any marks or dents on the skin. If it does try another size.
Women need to know that wearing a bra, is only a cultural phenomenon.
Never ever wear a bra to bed.
This is a risk free, cost free experiment women.

PUTTING ANTI- CANCER POWER TO WORK

Studies show that eting more soy products such as tofu ( soybean curd) may lower your risk of cancer, The most powerful anti – cancer substance in soy products may be the food chemical genistein.
Research shows tha5 genistein can help kill cancer cells, stop a tumor’s spread through the body, and keep a tumor from growing blood vessels.
Docs have told women with breast cancer not to eat more soy or take soy supplements like glenistein, because soy contains phytoestrogens, natural estrogens with about half the strength of the hormone manufactured by the body. But study after study shows that the phytoestrogens don’t increase the risk of breast cancer. Nor does it accelerate the disease. In fact it does just the opposite by slowing cancer growth. Doc recommends that that women with breast cancer either take a genistein supplementof 6 milligrams daily, or eat more soy.

    Some Breast Pain Relief

A gentle massaging can help improve, the circulation to the breasts and decrease pain.
With your finger tips doc says make small, gentle, circular motions over the entire surface of the breasts. When you feel a cyst or a lump, massage gently around it, but never so hard that you irritate the tissue or cause any pain.

    Hormone Replacement Therapy

If you’re on this replacement therapy ( HRT ) you may feel more tenderness in the breasts doc says. This is because hormone replacement, adds estrogen and progesterone to your body. If your breasts are tender, your dosage may have to be adjusted. So you need to talk to your doctor about the possibility.

    Bursitis and Tendinitis

Doc says first 24 hrs use ice after the pain starts. It reduces the inflammation which is the actual source of your pain.
A bag of peas is the best tool for the job. Peas are like a bunch of little ice cubes inside the bag. They mold themselves to the contours of the body.
Cover the bag with a thin layer of insulation such as plastic wrap used to preserve food.
You need to keep the bag from direct contact with your skin, while keeping the actual contact cold enough to do the job. Now start that massage.

If the knees ache gently rub the sides of the joint with a bag of peas, that’s where you find the tendons. Never mind the back of the knee and kneecap.
If the elbow aches just take the peas and concentrate, on the back and sides of the joint, and forget the tender inside of the elbow.
Shoulder aches take the peas and massage all around the joint. Top, back, front and sides.
You need to rub gently on these areas, and be consistent long enough for the area to become numb. Approximately 5- 10 minutes. You need to do this every other hour for the first 24 hors, except when sleeping. After the 24 hours do the ice massage three times a day.

    Exercise Tips
Stop complaining about not having, enough time to exercise.. Make time.
I hear this a lot in my office. I just want to toss people out on their ears, and tell them to get moving. Nothing irks me more. You find time for other things don’t you? Well you need to work this into a daily schedule as well.
I’m serious people. If you work than exercise for 15 minutes during your lunch hour. Or put a mini trampoline in your office and bounce while on the phone. Run up and down the stairs for five minutes twice a day. If you ride the bus than get off one stop before yours.
Some people say I have no energy, or no place to exercise. These are excuses people that I don’t go for. All you need is a three foot square and you can exercise.
You can run in place without going anywhere.
Just make a pledge that you’re going to exercise faithfully for one month. After that you will see how much easier it gets.
If you live in the city, hit the sidewalks. If you live in the country, hit the trails.
If you will exercise you will find the energy. So grit your teeth and move it out.
You don’t need any fancy spas. Check with schools, and colleges for fitness programs. These are usually $ 10.00 a week if you can afford them.
You can even rent DVD’s to exercise with.
    The point is just exercise.
You will need a good pair of walking shoes.
For people feeling depressed exercise is the best cure. It’s better than any prescription.

    SO NOW WHAT’S YOUR EXCUSE

    Fiber Tips

Fiber has a huge impact on your health. It helps prevent bowel cancer, reduces stomach acid, and lowers the amount of cholesterol in your blood.

Some scientists believe that certain foods contain toxins and chemicals that may induce cancerous changes in the colon lining. It is thought that speeding the passage of food through the intestine, fiber reduces the time during which these chemicals can have this effect. A diet rich in fiber will also promote healthy bowel function.

Foods rich in fiber include whole wheats brown rice, grains,
    fruit and vegetables.
However if your stomach is not used to fiber, there can be a lot of bloating and excess
    gas.

The key here is to introduce fiber rich foods into your diet slowly. Let your digestive system get used to them. You may have to drink more water as the fiber absorbs liquid.

Two types of fiber include Soluble and Insoluble. Soluble include oats, beans, and barley. These are thought to lower blood cholesterol.
Insoluble found in whole – wheat cereals, rice, and many fruits and vegetables, promotes bowel function to ward against bowel cancer.

    Health Facts

We don’t eat the optimal diet that is needed. Our soils have become so depleted that plants, can’t extract all the vital minerals they once did.
Several studies show that diet alone cannot give you, the blood levels of many essential nutrients, you need to prevent diseases much less cure them.
Every one needs a multi- vitamin / mineral /antioxidant formula. That includes every man , woman, and child.
We just aren’t getting the nutrition we need from our food.
I will send the doc’s list of what he recommends some time this week. Get your friends to check these out as well.
I sent several health tips last week. Never received an e- mail specifying they have been posted as of yet.

    Hair Loss

Women can start losing their hair after menopause, having a baby, and other factors as well. Such as poor circulation, acute illness, surgery, radiation, skin disease, sudden weight loss, iron deficiency, diabetes, thyroid disease, poor diet, and vitamin deficiency.

Use a shampoo and conditioner with biotin in it, as an ingredient.

B vitamins are important for growth and health of hair.

Vit C will help improve scalp circulation.

Vit E will increase oxygen uptake.

Zinc will stimulate hair growth by enhancing the immune system.

It is normal to lose 50 – 100 hairs daily.

If large amounts of hair are lost see your doc. Do not use a brush or fine tooth comb.

    Hair Dyed Tips

At some time or other woman experiment, with hair products including dyes.
Woman have been concerned about hair dyes and cancer for years. If this is a concern of yours before using check with your doc.
If pregnant or trying to become pregnant definitely check with your doc.

    Permanent Hair Color
I think I’d leave this to professionals. This could lead to a terrific disaster if done at home. You will need to see your hairdresser every six to eight weeks. More if roots are noticeable before hand.
Chose a soft shade and it won’t be so noticeable when the roots start growing out.
A permanent dye is not a cheap solution, but it can be dramatic.

Highlights will boost your own hair color. Highlights lighter than your natural color will illuminate.
Lowlights darker than your own natural hair color will add drama.
Your hair dresser will dye, the short strands of hair all over your head. But not the whole head.
    Semipermanent Dyes
These dyes you can play around with until you find a color you like. They wash out in
About 15 washes. The color just fades with each wash.
    Temporary Dyes
You can change these dyes until your next shampoo if you’d like. They only darken.

    Hair Tips

If you presoak your hair you can use less shampoo. Just apply warm water and gently draw your fingers, through your hair as the water runs through it. Only tug gently at the hair near the scalp to improve circulation.
Many people have dull hair because it is covered with a thin layer of shampoo residue.
When you have rinsed several times, than give it a final rinse of cold water. This will invigorate the scalp. Then last condition.
If you have sand from the beach in your hair, you do need to shampoo twice.
You should always apply conditioner after swimming, because the chorine dries out the hair.
When you condition it makes styling much easier.
There are many conditioners out there. So the best way to find one for your hair, is to try some of those trial sizes in the drug stores. Or ask your hair dresser.
When you use a conditioner give your scalp a massage also. Leave it in for a few minutes and then rinse.
Your hair always feels great when you go to the hairdresser. The reason being they get out all that build up of product in your hair.
Conditioners take longer than shampoo to get out of the hair. So rinse it good.
Then you will have healthy, shiny, and a lot of body in those locks.
Don’t scrub away with the towel drying your hair. You will just cause a tangled mess.
Instead just squeeze the water out.
Use a wide – tooth comb on wet hair. When the hair is wet it is very fragile. When you do excessive tugging you can cause breakage or damage.
Conditioners made from natural ingredients tend to be more compatible with the composition of the hair. This will leave it smoother and more manageable.
