congrats on the new floor! I love ours, easy clean up and no fuss. I bought some laminate floor repair stuff at lowes for about five bucks. havent had to use it yet, but its for scratches and nicks. it comes in three different shades of brown, but so far, our floors have stood up to pretty much everything

What about just general cleaning, did you buy that special stuff that they sell for the floor or do you make your own? So far so good, but I am sure sooner than later someone is going to spill something......have issues with the "cleaning" part of it?

I have "Quick Step" laminate floors in my entire house (ds & I have allergies). I have used different things and haven't settled on a favorite. I use swiffer sometimes and it does a good job. But I have to use a string mop w/ water & ammonia every now and then because my floors get really dirty. It seems like every thing leaves streaks, even vinegar & water. The only thing I have not tried is the expensive stuff the "Quick Step" company sells. I may have to try it......
I love the floors. My boys are rough and I have a dog, so far no scratches or dents or chips. The dog has peed on it and it didn't phase the floor. We have found spills 24 hrs later and it did not cause peeling.
BTW the floors have been down for about 4 yrs now.

I have Pergo in my house and I use the Bona cleaner for stone and laminate floors. It's expensive but does a terrific job cleaning and keeping the shine. I used Swiffer and it started taking the shine away.

I use white vinegar. I take an old wash cloth, put it on my swiffer mop and spray the cloth with my vinegar spray bottle, ( just dampen it ) then just wipe it over the floor. it works great, then I throw the cloth in the washer. I have a real small kitchen, so it doesnt take me long.
I think there is a post from canadian gardener, about cleaning like this.Pine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.

Use only hardwood-friendly cleaning agents. Avoid those concentrated solutions in cleaning your hardwood floor. These chemicals can destroy the physical appearance of your hardwood by making them look worn and dull. In order to maintain the quality, use only prescribed pH solutions for it.
It is also advised to wipe them dry after applying a cleaning agent.
When applied on your flooring, they can give it the necessary shine that the hardwood is famous of. But if you leave them there long enough, they will easy corrode into the material and cause irreversible damage.
