xmas wrapping paper scraps
i saw this in my dollar stretcher email. it would probably be a good idea for those of you who do lots of wrapping. you know...reuse, recycle, blah ...blah....
*********
Instead of Holiday Tissue Paper
I was telling my wife about The Dollar Stretcher emails that I
get (we're both extremely frugal). She thought of this for the
holiday season. She suggested shredding (using a paper
shredder) the odd shaped pieces of wrapping paper that are
left when wrapping a gift or the old wrapping paper after you
open a gift as filler for mailing presents. Or put it in
bagged presents instead of expensive tissue paper. It's still
very festive, but it's free.

hope someone can get some use out of this idea

cool when i first saw the line I first thought of the paper used to wrap the glasses, i use it in crafts (wrinkled and coffee stained). But shredding is good too. we dont buy colored paper to fill the bags we use leftovers or newspaper.

This is a great idea. Thank you for sharing. I never thought of shredding wrapping paper scraps or "old" wrapping paper. My little niece would love to help with this task.

We have three paper shredders (don't ask) and they all shred paper with different designs - or shredding patterns - this could be very entertaining!!

This is a WONDERFUL idea! I HATE throwing away the scraps, OR wrapping paper from a present that has already been open. NEAT idea, thanks for taking the time to share it with us!

What a great idea. I hate buying tissue paper just to have them tear it out and get it all wrinkled so you cant reuse it.

This is an extremely useful idea. Even when using reusable cloth bags it's great to have fluff in them, or for lining gift baskets. I do not own a shredder but plan on it someday, I'll store this frugal gem away until then.
