Hair Dryer and Pot Foaming
Hair Dryer and Pot Foaming

When cooking various food often a layer of bubbles form on top of the contents and the pot overflows. To prevent this from occurring simply blow the surface with a hair dryer. The bubbles are broken up instantly.Durgan

I like the idea but the frugal side of me has to ask if the blow dryer wouldn't burn more electricity than it is worth to lower the temp a few degrees to prevent boil over?

Stir w/ spoon and break the tension. If it's too out of hand. Take it off for a minute and turn the burner down. I am far too clutzy to put an electric appliance over a pot of wet. OOPS.
Wouldn't that put chemicals in your food.

It is necessary to cook the soy milk for about 15 minutes and boiling over is a major problem. Stirring is not sufficient and even if it was it takes more time than I am prepared to offer. Removing the heat and applying again is also tedious. A quick blow with the hair dryer removes the bubbles instantly preventing foaming over. The bubble, insulating layer was about four inches thick even in the large pot used.
There is not a cook that has not encountered this over foaming problem at one time or another. Rhubarb cooking is another common foaming over problem, and I suppose it will work in this application.
I wanted to share this information, before I apply for a patent. Maybe I will get a Noble Prize, since ideas seem to be in vogue these days.
But all said and done, few people cook anything these days. Big Daddy and the Supermarkets prepare table ready food for many; also there is always the fast food places. And last but not least one can always order in a Pizza.Durgan
