I would second Dawn Dishsoap. Just rub a little into the stain and rewash.

Dawn dish detergent is the best. I always hang the item up to dry in case I need to reapply the detergent and rewash.

Murphy's Oil Soap also works really well. Worked well to clean mechanic's clothing and fastfood kitchen cook clothing. All grimy and greasy!!

I use Sunlight or Dawn dish detergent for most food/organic stains.
For mechanical grease I try the dish soap first but if that doesn't work I use the mechanics hand wash - you know, the gritty citrus stuff? I put a bit of that on the stain with some water and gently massage in with an out of commission toothbrush. Usually works.2012: The Year Of The Purge!

What i use, and a lot of us on here have it on hand, is a bar of Fels Naptha. I just cleaned my kitchen wass with it and it took off stuff that no other cleaner would take off. You can Dawn and also shampoo. It's made to cut the oil dirt in your hair. I've removed stains with baby shampoo. Ok I guess it's back to the kitchen walls.

DH, who for years used to work in a machine shop - think pieces of metal used as base material coated in oil to protect from rust before machining - swears by a liberal application of Simple Green and wash with a color safe bleach like Biz or Clorox 2.

“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”

courage to change the things I can,

I use dish soap, Dawn is best! and a little scrubby brush, put it on the spot straight (no water) , dip the brush in warm water and scrub. Then rinse and repeat.
It is what it is.

I pour liquid clothes detergent on the stain. I use both Tide and All and both have worked. I have an HE washer and I always worry about putting non-HE stuff in it. I usually let the detergent sit for a while before I wash the item. It even works when you've washed the item several times with the stain.

I use shampoo. I've even used it after the item has been washed and dried. I rub it in a little and the oil spot usually comes out.
