Silicone Pastry Brush
If you don't have one, consider getting one. After using a number of pastry brushes over the years -- which never seemed to get completely clean without a lot of work -- I was thrilled with the silicone pastry brush. They are flexible enough to spread whatever ingredient you are working with, and they clean up beautifully.
I got mine on sale when K-Mart was eliminating everything Martha (Stewart).

I agree, they're awesome. Same thing for silicone basting brushes - wouldn't use anything else now!

~Definitely agree! I have a silicone basting brush I got on sale a few years back . It's smallish so I use it for baking as well as basting.
It's a million times nicer than the old style brushes. I'd be washing those for at least 5 minutes by hand. They never seem to get clean enough for me. The silicone goes right in the dishwasher.

Love the silicone pastry brush. We bought it at the local farm and home store.

I bought a Kitchen Aid baster at Big Lots a couple of years ago. It came with a silicone pastry brush. It is great! I hated trying to clean the other kind with nylon (or whatever they were made of).
