Default Gifts Under $5 for Men?

I'm stuck for suitable gifts for male friends. I need some realistic options. I did a quick internet search and things like boxer shorts, toiletries, and gourmet coffee are not options here. These are the married/partnered husbands of girlfriends, who we spend time with as couples, and they are very manly men.

I'm already well covered in the candy/cookies area, need some ideas in the useful/practical category.

I just went to the dollar store recently and they had the same movies as Wal-mart had in their $5-$10 DVD bin! A lot of action adventure & Sci fi (and chick flicks & family movies) I had 2 men left on my list. I got them each one action movie, a big bag of Herr's popcorn (name brand around here, not sure where your at) A box of movie theater candy,a popcorn bin (decorated popcorn and red stripes) and a basket bag that came with it's own ribbon. All from the dollar store, total cost $5.30 for a movie basket. Or you could just buy them 5 movies each.

WalGreens is doing a 75% off watches sale, maybe you could find watches $5.

If they fish maybe some tackle supplies.

A really nice dressy scarf is always nice. If they wear ties, I just heard that tie clips are in this year. Really nice key rings (with a light) are also a nice idea (men and toys). Swiss army knifes are always greatly enjoyed. (another men and toys)

Thanks for all the tips. I had a tough time finding things under $5 that weren't "cheap", but in the end I went with a music CD, a DVD movie, a LED flashlight, and a t-shirt I found on the clearance rack. Next year I think it will have to be a $10 limit.

No, each item was under $5 individually. I got the CD and DVD on Amazon, the flashlight at an office supply place, and the t-shirt at Kohl's. The shirt was actually $6, but it was close enough to not matter.

Men are hard, sounds like you got some really good deals. I usually fall back on homemade CD's of music if you have a good CD-Burner on your computer. You can make about 5 of these for $5 including printed labels and jewel cases for each one.

I was going to mention a wind up flashlight (emergency). Preparedness is a good idea, especially if you live in an area where weather is a concern too. Great ideas!
