Finding coffee on sale
I been keeping an eye out for a buy on coffee so I can stock up .
Current sale at Sav a Lot this week, is Chase & Sanborn at $ 3
for a 23 oz can. I had to look at the ad twice and then get out the calculater. This is not a normal size can for this area. We usually have 33-35 oz ones, or about 11 oz.
Last cans I bought were the 34.5 oz size ones for $ 3.99 a can in December. I picked up one recently for 4.99 as a stock pile item until I can find a deal.
So I think the current sale is good enough. I divided $ 3.00 by the 23 oz and came out with 13 cents an ounce. Only way I could compare the different size cans was to do a breakdown by ounces.
I guess I will buy a couple at this sale so I stay ahead. I have seen some coffee lately at really high scary prices. I don't want to run out and not be able to find a deal.--------My signature--------

Yes I saw this in our paper in FL. I may give it a try. I did pick up some free coffee in my Publix. I normally go for store brand anyway and the save a lot coffee is just fine to me.

I just got a can of the Chase and Sanborn at Sav a lot this morning. It is a good price for my area. I put it in my stockpile.

I am basically in the same boat right now. I need to stock up on coffee. I keep both canned and instant. Usually I buy the store brand on sale at $1.99 for a small can. Unfortunately I haven't seen any good sales lately.

I'm going to get several cans at Save a lot tomorrow of the Chase and Sanborn. We have used quite a bit of store brand coffee in the past and will do so in the future. I do however, like Folgers, Chase /Sanborn and Maxwell House if I can find them on sale

I also didn't like Millstone ---very common here --in WM and some other stores.
I am a bit picky about my coffee too and have tried a zillion of them. Got it narrowed down to Java and white cloud that is carried by some Albertsons. Two or three others...Dunkin Donuts isn't too bad either. Funny lisaflex-----I tried the ones you mentioned and I didn't like them............
we coffee lovers.........we do have our 'quirks'....truth be known---if I was without coffee ---I WOULD DRINK ANYTHING!!
I just found Java on sale at Alb. for 3.99 ---usual 'sale' is $5.99 and I bought 6 bags! (the limit) Should have gone back to get more but had some other.

I am a tad bit of a coffee snob too, but I do not like Starbucks. I get my coffee at Costco. Their coffee is the Kirkland brand, Columbian, and comes in a 3lb. can for $9.99. I love it! It is good strong coffee.

When buying beans from starbucks got to be too expensive, I took the advice of someone here and we started roasting our own. I dont' know that it really is appreciably cheaper (the green beans cost around 1/2 of what the roasted ones do) but it does have the advantage that it stores much better.
We were spending $10.75 a week on coffee beans and I just couldn't see doing that or spending more forever.
Thank you whoever it was who recommended roasting your own!
