Default Great Uses for Your Old Coffee Grounds

If you drink coffee, start saving the grounds to reuse in a number of ways around your home and garden.
Here are just a few examples:

1: If you have a garden, or even potted plants, sprinkle coffee grounds around the base of the plants. The grounds are actually full of nutrients that your plants love. The nutrients are richest in grounds from a drip coffee maker.

2: Keep cats from using your garden as a litterbox, by sprinkling a mixture of coffee grounds and orange peels (there are so many uses for orange peels!) around the base of some of your plants.

3: The next time you go to clean out your fireplace, sprinkle coffee rounds over the ashes so that you can keep the dust down and remove them more easily.

Do you have any more ideas for reusing coffee grounds?

I have tried this one.........and it didn't work for me. Have tried coffee grounds-----orange peels-------cayenne pepper---bark----moth balls........nothing worked so far.

I'm thinking a plastic bag full of cat poop on the neighbor's step that has the cat might work better!

But - that said---I still never waste them......rhoddies, hydrang., and azaleas love coffee grounds and if nothing else they go in my compost pile.
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Compost and azaleas I just threw out this morning's coffee grounds. I love to smell the coffee as you walk up to our door.

Ah, that's too bad! This has always worked for me and my gardens. Sounds like your neighbor has a pretty determined cat! Good luck!

Haha! I haven't tried the coffee ground or orange peels but we have tried the cayenne pepper and yes no luck! I'm with you when you say that the bag is a better choice. lol! There have been many times that I wish I had the nerve to do it.
