Frugal tip for Cat Owners.
Our cats only eat one type of food. They are indoor cats and do really well on only one kind of food. They can have treats but rather than pay a $1-2 for a small thing of treats I buy a second bag of cat food (whatever is on sale or I have a Q for) and then sprinkle some on the floor as a treat. They are none the wiser and thrilled for the treat.

That's probably about the only way I could get my cat to eat treats. He's 15 and has never touched a treat in his life. But if it's something I'M eating, well sure, he's all for it LOL. Eggs, cheese, lunch meat, salmon, he loves cheetos...., pop corn, etc.

Sounds like your cat and one of mine are related. Jack never ever eats treats. But, if I say the word "cheese" he freaks. The little guys loves anything cheese. Shredded cheese, sliced cheese, Cheetos, Doritos, Cheese Balls, etc...He has opened new bags of Doritos before. He also has a fit for Kentucky Fried Chicken. As soon as we walk in the door with it, he goes ballistic. Jack also eats popcorn. But, I bite the kernel part off and just give him the soft part.

LOL. I bet it's the salt they're after. I've found that KC loves pretty much anything with salt. He's taken pickles from my plate before....
That and creamy things. The cat was sitting in between BF and I one night. I came back with ice cream sandwiches and when I reached across the couch to hand it to BF, guess who took it right out my hand? Yep, the cat.

Ok this is too strange. I just checked my mail after posting my last ...post lol. I signed up just days ago for a free sample of Green Mountain chicken liver treats for cats. Guess what? He ate it!! First 'treat' ever. I think the freebie was posted here on FV. Unbelievable....and now he's begging for more.

Thomas LOVES chicken livers, but not KFC's. I make them, and we have to share.
I got to try this, right now his treat is milk (lactose free, of course) and he is starting to get more than a little pudgy.

Our Iggy LOVES chicken livers. They sell them at the Dollar Tree here frozen in quarts. I buy at least a quart a week for him. Very frugal and very good for him.

Chicken livers at KFC? Definitely didn't have those back in Indiana. But down here....I can see it. It seems like there's a KFC, Popeye's or Church's Chicken on EVERY corner LOL.

Oh my gosh ... my cat too! She "loves" cheese and cheese puffs [as long as they were the store brand] but as for cat food? She will not touch a generic can of it. Go figure!
As for the cheese ... I have to laugh @ her because I don't like her having alot of cheese so just give her small pieces broke off from mine.
But ... if I don't want her to have any [may have had it the night before, etc.] -- the ONLY way I can get by without having to give her some is that I have to run water in the kitchen and hurry and open the slice so she doesn't hear me do it. ha! ha!
She's actually been sleeping before and I opened a slice of it and she heard it and she about broke her neck to get out there to get some. LOL Too funny!

I forgot to mention that my cat is also a house cat and I feel guilty that she can't get out and run and play [frolic? lol] and so when she wants canned food - I give it to her and there is always dry food down.
Would be a whole lot cheaper not to have to buy the canned though, for sure!
