toilet paper savings is this idea extreme?
OK so First off I am 26 weeks pregnant and this one lives on my bladder. LOL so After my 5th trip to the toilet last night at about 4:00am I had an epiphany. I use cloth rags to clean babys but why not use them instead of TP for ours. Or at least mine. With all the peeing i could save a fortune LOL. Is this a too extreme idea? And mor importantly am i a freak for thinking of this at 4:00am on the toilet when sleep is a much more dire need LOL. Clearly i think too much.

I do know of people who use cloth TP. It's not for me, but I can see how it would save a lot of $$ in this house with 3 females

Maybe you could use water (ie. using a bucket/watering can) and then dry up using just one or two sections of toilet paper.

I could see where it could possibly save some money but it wouldn't be for me either.......not enough saving and what/how do you explain to 'company'........or is it going to be duel rules?

the "no dingleberries" method. grin.
actually why not?11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

I did this on occasion when I was cloth diapering anyway, just used the cloths and threw them in the diaper pail with the rest. When you're peeing a dozen times a day at the end of a pregnancy it's more of a comfort issue than a monetary one. Cloth is a lot gentler.

As long as you have TP for guests available, I say, why not? If you're comfortable with it, go for it. I've done it before temporarily, in a pinch. I'm not sure I would do it all the time, but then again, I've never been pregnant.

I thought that as soon as I got my sewing machine set up I'd sew up some cloths out of old t-shirts just for this purpose. I was going to store them away and pull them out if things got REALLY rough around here. I'm sure this is how things were done before TP hit the shelves.
We no longer buy paper towels because they are priced beyond our means. Same thing with laundry detergent, I make my own. Cleaning solutions too. Crazy how much prices are rising. I don't see any reason why not to do this, it will save you money. I know there are some who even make their own homemade sanitary pads.~~~

thanks for the ideas. LOL the thing is I am going to be cloth diapering again with this one so it would not be a huge thing for me. Hubby would probably not go along with it but men sprinkle clean most of the time anyway. LOL I would keep TP in the house but we use something like $50+ a month on it so i got the idea. It is literally money down the toilet and that is with the best price i can get here at 5 for a 12-16 pack. We have not used napkins in over 6 years. When i was pregnant with my first I have them up. Use rags for all cleaning and napkins for eating and food prep. Just seemed like an extention of that. Back in the day they used leaves so why not LOL

Wow, Bar mops are really inexpensive if used for sanitary pads.
