    Talking Frugal tip 12/26

Always take a minute to check your receipt before you leave the grocery store. Computerized scanners are only as accurate as the information input into them which is sometimes incorrect or a non-sale price.

My store will not correct the mistake once you step out of it, so this is very important to do. I have found errors before I leave the store, which has resulted in my getting the item for free, which is another store policy.

I always check. It happened to me today in Target. I bought something today and it rang up differently than the sticker that was on the box. So I had her stop and correct it then. I also don't even want them starting to check me out until I'm standing there to see what the price is. I've had them wait until I'm done unloading my buggy. Drives people crazy but I would have to say at least 80 percent of the time something comes up wrong. Even if it is off a few cents I'll correct them on it. Sometimes it drives people crazy but it's my money and I want every cent I can get!!!

I had this happen at Winco a few weeks ago. I buy all my spices in bulk and bought some parsley (.8 of an ounce--which is more than you'd think!). Well, I they charged my for 1.8 POUNDS! My parsley was supposed to cost .14 and it ended up being over $4.00 I saved it for the next time I came back. The checker got a big kick out of the discrepancy.

I also agree w/Daphen. At Walmart I make them wait until I have unloaded the cart. So far I have gotten understandable cashiers.

Today I went to Joanne's. EVERYTHING I bought had the wrong price. I bought some simplicity patterns supposed to be 99 cents and they were ringing up at a whopping $5.75!
