How do you store your potatoes?
I just can't seem to find a good way to store my potatoes ~ what do you do with yours? Right now mine sit on the floor in my dining room
and I need to find another way to store them.
Help!

I keep mine in the bottom of the refrigerator.
I really don't know what is the proper way.~*Michelle*~

I keep mine in a bin where it is dark, & they can get air too. it's the bottom bin close to the floor where it is cooler.

Mine are under the sink in the dark. I don't keep my cleaning supplies there, just my potatoes.
It's rather cool under there too. From what I learned from my Mother and Grandmother keep potatoes in a cool, dark place. They always said not to keep them in the fridge, not sure why. I hope someone more knowledgable comes along soon and sorts it all out for us.

Mine are in a cardboard box at the bottom of the pantry. When I pull em out, I try to roll them around and keep them rotated so they don't get bad spots

I never really knew where to put them either Heather. I just thought it was better than throwing them on the floor because they were out of the way....lol!

Well I have always heard the dark, cool place thing too. That's how I store mine.

a cool dark place is right, not too much moisture .....
If you put them in the fridge, the starch turns to sugar.....

mine are in a box too. (but because they are instant)
only because i don't use regular potatoes enough to keep them from going bad. Another thing to add to the list for next year.

I keep mine in the fridge, too! I always wondered what the proper place was for them.

Mine are in an open weave plastic bin on a shelf that leads to my basement. It's dark and cool there unless I turn the light on, lol!
They seem to like it there & don't sprout too quickly.
