    I use it:

~ straight to clean my toilet,

~ half cup to a half gallon of water to clean windows,

~ half cup to a 1/4 sink of water to clean kitchen floor (linoleum).

Do you use it straight or diluted - what ratio? Also do you spray it on after a shower when everythings still wet/damp or do you spray it on a dry shower?

I get this one on my arm (comes & goes) often but taking a cotton ball and some vinegar & dabbing it on makes it go away with one application. Must be a ph balance thing but so glad to find an inexpensive trick that works.
    Vinegar rocks!
K how do you use it to deter the ants? Do you just spray it in the corners where you think they sneak in? And for your counter, does it really disenfect or just clean?

And now my answer to this question....I use it on my salads and fries b/c it makes them taste better! Gosh I love vinegar!!

I actually just got a book from the library today called Vinegar which is all about the different uses for it. I'll make a note of all the interesting uses when I read it and post them here later.

It works good for mosquitos bites, too. Just put a dab on and they stop itching.

I use it diluted in water and in a spray bottle to clean just about everything.

These are some great ideas ... I never knew a person could use vinegar for so many things.

As for myself, the only thing I've ever used it for [besides cooking] is to clean my coffee pot.

    Love,

    Jennelle

I hope I remember 'cuz I want to try it with baking soda to clean my toilet!

If you are baking and short an egg a tablespoon of vinegar will apparently substitute.
If you add a tablespoon to a pot of vegetables it removes the stuff that causes gas and helps them keep their colour
I use it as rinse aid in the dishwasher
Put through your washing machine without clothes to clean the hoses and drains out, same through your dishwasher (instead of expensive dishwasher cleaners)

~remove build up in the shower
    ~clean the toilet w/baking soda
~w/baking soda for clogs in drains
~w/a little dish soap for window cleaner
    ~to mop the floors
~to clean the bathroom and kitchen
~sprinkle baking soda on pots and pans and spray w/vinegar, scrub and rinse, you've never seen your pots and pans look cleaner!
    ~sunburns (I'm a redhead)
~take the itch out of bug bites
~remove product build up in hair
    ~as softner while doing laundry
    ~mixed w/olive oil as a furniture polish
~to clean up a pet's accident...it breaks up the proteins in the urine
~to kill weeds in the cracks of the sidewalk
~to balance the pH in my grandmother's garden
~to use to deter bugs (I live across from a field!)

That's about all I can think of for now. I am however the vinegar and baking soda queen, so I'm sure I'm missing something. Those, however, are the ONLY products I clean w/with the exception of the occasional squirt of lemon or sprinkle of salt.

Default Tips for Cleaning Laminate Floor With Vinegar?

Has anyone tried using vinegar to clean their laminate flooring? I really don't know what to use on mine - apparently harsh cleaners are no good, and those Swifter cleaners get expensive. I've heard that you can use vinegar to basically clean anything - do you know if it's safe for laminate as well or will dull it? And if you can use it, how much vinegar and how much water? Thanks!

I use it for my ceramic tile, not sure about laminate. I use like 1/4cup in a gallon bucket, and it works well.

i dont think vingear will hurt anything, cleans great
i also use baby wipes in place of swifer pads, just add a little soapy water to the floor.

It's the only cleaner I use on my floors and countertops, I also use it as a fabric softner..keeps the lines in the washer clean too!

We have laminate in our entire downstairs and I use vinegar and water to clean it often. I use it about twice a month, just a splash of vinegar in my water. The rest of the time I will use just plain water or water with a splash of murphy's oil soap if the floor is reall grubby. I try to mop at least twice a week, sometimes more since the kids have been home for the summer and are in and out all day.

The BEST thing I have found for our floor is the swiffer with the attached vacuum. It saves me so much time since I don't have to mess with the broom and dustpans and whatnot. I found one on the clearance at the grocery store for $20. It came with 4 swiffer pads, but when those are gone I just use microfiber car detailing towels and wash them. They work better than the swiffer pads, I think.

I read not long ago (after I had been using vinegar to clean my laminate floors as well) NOT to use it. It eats the finish off! I have to say that I tend to agree that it probably does b/c I had been using vinegar/water spray to clean my cabinet doors for sometime and all at once the finish was all gone on my doors where I clean them the most. I had been cleaning these doors with glass cleaners (store bought) for 20 years and no problems...now I'm having to have my doors refinished.
