the secret to crispy french toast
is adding a little corn starch to the egg mix.

I like mine crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I don't like soft or soggy french toast. I make mine in my electric skillet, so often don't need the corn starch and it crisps right up if I get the temp just right.
Crispy with powdered sugar and syrup. Yum.If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. oops..probably could have edited my last post..oh well.
My mom used to use brown sugar and corn syrup too. I'll have to ask her for the recipe next time I talk to her.If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online.
