    Default A Frugal Tip

I am not sure if this is the place to put this or not but here goes.
I get the big bottles of lotion with pump dispenser. Instead of throwing it away when I can't get any more out with the pump. I lay the bottle on it's side and poke a hole in it with scissors and cut all the way around the bottle about 2 inches from the bottom. You would be surprised how much lotion is still in there. I put the bottom part in a baggie so it doesn't dry out and use the rest of the lotion.

Great tip. It's amazing how much gets left in the bottles isn't it.

Yes it is amazing how much can get left.

Darlene I try to get every drop. I squeeze tooth paste tubes way down. I have a fit when my dh throws a toliet paper roll away just cause there is a few squares on there but not enough. Or he wants to throw the cereal box away and there is a tiny bit left.

Other tips, I put water in the shampoo bottles, dish soap and liquid hand soap bottles to use those up too. I add the water and shake them and it makes more and uses it up better.

That's a tip that I haven't heard of before, but a great idea. Thanks for sharing!

i put the bottle upside down in the shoe organizer i have hanging on the bathroom door to store all of our hair things. after it has sat there for awhile and everything has dripped down to the bottom, i'll pour it into the new bottle. but the time i get around to it, we've used enough of the new bottel for there to be room for it. just screw off both pumps and let them sit one on top of the other like you would for ketchup bottles. if i tried cutting hte bottle, i'd probably cut my hand off. glad you have more dexterity than i do.

I do that with the Frizease that I buy for my hair. Tha stuf is not frugal at all, but then I have a special case of hair...I live with everyday being a bad hair day, even with that stuff, so I definately get my money's worth out of it.

    Thanks for the tip

I don't know about having dexterity but I try to be careful. I don't want to jab myself instead of the container.

Just reusing one of the pumps for shampoo, conditioner and body wash( have unbelievably dry skin) really make them last much longer. cau
