Uses for old calendars
Do you try and reuse your old calendars for anything or do you just toss them?
I like to use the heavy calendar pages to make patterns for crafts with. They are just heavy enough to be able to reuse many times and yet light enough not to take up much space. Last night I used some to make new purse patterns. DD got a purse as a gift and I think I can figure out how to make it - so I sketched it on my trusty old calendar paper. Now to find some scrap fabric to practice with.......
What do you do with those old calendars?

I keep mine for a couple of years because its where I mark down all our appointments, birthdays, celebrations, etc.
Then if the pictures are nice I'll pick a couple out, frame them and throw the rest of the calendar away.

If I really like the pictures, I also will cut and frame them..............

Use the pictures to decoupage to boxes to decorate them for gifts. Also, you can glue them to a piece of cardboard, cut them and viola - instant puzzle for the little ones.

I use the pictures to make envelopes--- have a template saves somewhere on my computer, to make various size envelopes.

I also use them to make envelopes...also old magazines with pretty pictures. (National geographics are great for this) You can buy a template, but what I do is take apart an old envelope, and trace it onto cardstock (an old cereal box or the cover of the calendar work well). Then I use this as a pattern, fold, and tape up the sides. Voila! Artistic envelopes from something most people would trash.
