second use - lids
Lids from juice bottles, milk jugs, yogurt containers, etc. - how do YOU reuse them?
I save them and use them when ds paints. I squirt individual colors of paint in them and use them for mixing colors as well. They are also fun to dip in paint and use for stamping, swirling, etc.

I toss them.
That is a good idea though, and I am looking forward to any other new ideas

Cat toys!

Also, I collected them for work for a while for a low-functioning activity for my nursing home residents. You can collect several of different colors to make a sorting game. Use an egg carton, or, several yogurt containers and somehow mark the color inside each one (ie: a blue construction paper circle inside the container for blue caps). Give the person a bag full of caps and have them sort them by color into the appropriate containers.

Wow, those are some great idea's. I've been known to save the ones from my cans of formula and then when I am cooking something that requires a lot of stirring, I place the spoon on it so I don't mess up my stove top.

Any one re use old wool/yarn?
Cut "V" shapes into each end ( round ones will work but oblong or square is better
)
Then wind your yarn around and it will straighten it out/keep it in place
This also works for Embroidery thread and Ribbons all that kind of stuff!
Round Lids:
When painting :slit a hole into plastic lid -with exacto knife(in UK use stanley knife or craft blade)
put paint brush through slit/hole (just enough to wedge it in)
and hey presto, no drips on hands!
Take any shape lid and cut as above only make a * shape with a series of cuts, nail/hang on garage wall you now have a hole in which to shove, old cleaning rags, a broom or similar lightweight object, the series of cuts that form the star shape are great for grabbing hold of things
BE AWARE, the cut bits may be sharp, so a softer type plastic lid is often better.
