Default second use - egg cartons

How do you reuse egg cartons?

The organic eggs I buy come in plastic cartons that can be recycled, so into the bin they go.

I tear off the top of the cardboard carton and use the bottom, one in a desk drawer and one in the junk drawer. They are great for holding lots of little stuff like dice, paper clips, tacks, change, etc.

Until this last winter I always threw them away, but I discovered they are great for getting a fire in the woodstove started so we used them for that. Now that the woodstove is quiet for the summer I am not sure what I will do with them. I like the idea of organizing the junk drawer with a few!

I have heard that you can use them to start seedlings in.. I think that once they have sprouted you can plant them egg carton and all... I haven't tried this, but it sounds like the Jiffy pots type of thing...There are craft projects the kids can do...DS made a dinasaur out of them before.. Thats about it..
