    Question Use for old crayons?

Not sure of where to post this, but what do you guys do with old crayons? These are good ones, and I have over an ice cream bucket full. I've made crayon cookies with the small bits and pieces, but these are like brand new. Any ideas? Thanks!

If they are good quality crayons in good condition, I would donate them to a children's service or some other children's charity. They're always looking for toys and things for the kids.

Your kids could pick a few colors and make some art for their rooms.

Take a cookie sheet/baking sheet and line it with aluminum foil or wax paper. Use a pencil sharpener to shave the crayons in various places all over the foil or paper. Put in the oven on low heat to melt. Remove from oven and carefully place a sheet of construction paper or cardstock over the top, press down gently, and then pull away and let dry.

They could also do shavings between 2 pieces of wax paper, go over it with an iron set on low, let firm up, and then cut into shapes to make window decor.

I know you already made crayon cookies, but I had an idea.

Years ago, I made crayon cookies in each color. It works best with one all greens & all reds & all oranges, etc. You could use sucker or soap molds.

Do you have kids in your family that you'll have to buy x-mas presants for? These in a cute pencil box or something would be good.
Heck, you could even make these & donate them, too.

Thanks for the ideas! I'm sure I could find somewhere to donate them.
