Default What can I do with these?

We had a party a week ago and I bought WAY too many hot dog and hamburger buns. They were cheap enough, We got them at Aldi's. I have 4 bags of buns left. We don't really like them after they have been frozen. I thought about letting them dry out and making bread crumbs with them. Does anyone have a more exciting idea?
    TIA

i would say garlic toast, butter them and add, garlic, parsley, whatever. If you want more healthy, use olive oil. Also croutons for salads work. We toss with a little oil, or melted butter, add spices and put in food dehydrator or oven.
I use buns for any sandwich. They are especially good with salad types, tuna, ham, or chicken salad with some lettuce.
Use the hot dog buns like sub rolls.
Or breadcrumbs for on casseroles, or use them instead of crackers in meatloaf, or ham loaf.

I've used them for French toast before....it's not gourmet, but it works.

I heard of a girl who made bread sticks out of them. Let me see if I can find her recipe and I will get back to ya!

    Here ya go:

Save the leftovers in the freezer, and whenever we have an Italian-style meal, I thaw them, split them in half, and spread each half w/ butter. Then I sprinkle them w/ garlic powder, dried basil, and shredded parm. cheese. After that, I stick 'em under the broiler 'til their hot and toasty. They turn out real good!

    Hope this helps!

Hi Marcia! For the hamburger rolls you can also make toasted cheese or an egg sandwich with them. Butter the outside of the roll with a little bit of butter and grill on each side. It flattens out, but they do taste really good with egg and cheese or just cheese in them.

How about stuffing. Cut the buns into cubes. Melt margarine, onion, celery, alittle chicken base or stock and whatever spices you normally put in stuffing. Mix into bread cubes. Put in a greased casserole and bake. Yummy

Bread pudding!!! My favourite thing to do with old bread.

Crumb or cube it up. Add a bunch of cinnamon, cut up that wrinkly old apple in the back of the fridge, pull out hte raisins, any nuts that might be hanging around. Mix it up with as many eggs as you can afford to part with (they're dear here $3.20 doz), and a galoop of milk.

    bake until cooked through.

eat hot as is, or serve with ice cream. In the morning slice it, toast it and spread a bit of honey on it.

ouch babs, I guess when we complain, we ought to look at you. I would really be in trouble, as my kids just love eggs. Bread pudding sounds really good though. May try it tonight for supper's dessert.
