I need some hard water help
I have a "plastic" shower/tub with glass doors and very hard water. I can't seem to get it clean. Any of you have any good tips to getting and keeping my shower clean?
TIA

Laura, mineral deposits on glass are hard to move. Try this. Get a spray bottle and half fill it with straight white vinegar. Spray the glass with the vinegar and leave it for 15 mintues. Hopefully this will soften some of the mineral deposites. Wipe the vinegar off and see how much it's shifted. Then make a paste from baking soda and a little water, and with a plastic bath scrubby, or something similar, apply the paste to the glass and scrub it hard. You'll probably have to do this step 2 or 3 times.
What you're trying to do is to soften the minerals and then take them off with the abrasive action of the baking soda and the scrubby.
Good luck.
PS, I really like your avatar. Very pretty.

We had these in our old house. I used an SOS or Brillo pad while I was in the shower and scrubbed down the door. It didn't scratch (test a small area first, of course) and cleaned the crap right off.

This is what I was going to suggest too; however, I have been told to only use a dry SOS/Brillo pad on a dry surface. This will prevent the pad from scratching. Works like a charm in my showerOriginally posted by AmyBoz

Good luck; I know what a pain in the neck hard water can be!

I second Rhonda's suggestion.
I have read that washing and rinsing your shower doors and tub/shower area with your shampoo while you're in the shower will also prevent buildup once you've gotten it clean. Once it's clean, try using a squeegee on the glass doors to wipe them down after each use as well.
