I'm afraid to click on that link! I just know that it costs me twice as much to fill up my car, or rather TWO cars. DD now drives.

Did you know that gas all comes from the same source (pipeline)?
When Shell puts in 5 gallons into the pipeline, after waiting in line behind Mobile, and Generic- they pull out 5 gallons (not the same 5 gal put in) in your state and bring it to their pumps to sell to you. It's the same gas that Mobile and Generic put in.
So, go to the cheapest gas station- they're all the same.
Further, were you aware of the reason gas cost more in some regions than in others? Gas in rural America is cheaper per gallon b/c there is no need to put gas cleaning stuff to comply with emission standards- thus it is cheaper to produce the final product.
When gas gets to Los Angelos, Boston, or Chicago- for instance - the company must process it to comply with emission standards to reduce pollution.
I just thought it was interesting. I always wondered why rural America didn't deserve clean air.- so I asked... and was told that b/c there is less car per acreage- the emissions do not pullute the air like the big city.

Gasoline is indeed transported in the same common carrier pipe lines in most cases. However, when it is distributed to the individual terminals and loaded into trucks, the individual oil companies have their own proprietary detergent additive injected. Some better (much better) than others. Therefore, it is not the same. By the way, the US EPA requires a deposit control additive to be injected in order to keep engines running clean. Clean = efficient. The cheaper brands inject the minimum, cheap additive. The majors typically inject more, higher grade additive. The gasoline in high density, metropolitan areas is usually required to meet a higher oxygen content standard, the problem is that the EPA and State environmental agencies require many different (boutique)blends, therefore refiners must produce many different slates in order to comply with the many different clean air regulations. One way the Gov't could help to reduce summer supply / price fluctuations would be to reduce the different slates required.

I have a bit of updating to do since my PC wasn't working but yeah I had to buy gas to drive DH to work, etc.
Why is it time lost you can never make up the amount of progress you could have done
Catching up is taking forever
Gas @ Mobil On The Run by me is now $3.13 the last fill-up I did was before DH took a vacation before EASTER & then I thought it was a high price $2.89
