    Default Get rid of bees

To get rid of pesky bees at your nexr BBQ or picnic. just place pieces of cut cucumbers around on the tables that your serving the food on or eating at. Juat slice off a circle piece and lay it down. The bees will go nuts for about 5 - 6 minutes and then they're gone --- POOF - like magic. My DD told me, I thought she had "lost it" then I tried it and IT WORKS. No more bees to bother you while eating.

I pilfered this from Taste of home message board, but thought it might be of use to someone here.

Hmm I wonder if it works for those pesky meat-eating yellowjackets? Might have to give it a try this summer. Thanks for the tip!

wow great tip, gotta write me a note to remember. We aren't in bee or wasp season yet, but wasps get really bad by July and conduct strafing runs over me and dh at the BBQ outside.

I'll tape this tip inside one of my cupboard doors (my place for often used recipes) so I remember.

If you do get stung by a bee or wasp, put a fresh cut peice of raw onion on it fast, it takes the pain out of the sting instantly, and the swelling too.

Don't waste time with that if you are allergic and need your epi pen, that comes first, but this calms the pain and swelling down after.

Thanks for the great tips Joy and Margery. I am going to add both of these to my handy hints notebook.
