Do you put vinegar in with every load? How much do you put in?

Do you think the vinegar would be okay while using regular storebought detergent? I'm not happy with drying agent, and I've tried both cascade and jetdry.

I have always used vinegar instead of jet dry. Saves a ton of money, works great. But I have never tried a HM detergent. I'm going to run a load right now. Thanks

Just fill the rinse agent dispenser and refill as needed... usually about once a month.

Oh absolutely, I know others who do this and it is just fine.

Thank you for the idea we just put in a dishwasher this weekend ( which it was given to us). I am going to try it.

Ooh, I have to try this as well!! With all the critters in the house, I am often having to do two loads of dishes daily!

When I used the HM detergent, I was using vinegar in the rise cycle. There was still some residue on the dishes, but that wasn't my major complaint with the mixture. My dishes were not getting clean. My dishwasher is only 6 months old, so the problem isn't with the dishwasher. Someone did posted a recipe with salt and I may look to add that into the mixture.

So I have done three loads with the home made stuff and It seams fine. I admit some of the dish looked a little cloudy but over all nothing to complain about. Now the next question is , is it really cheaper. I can get dishwasher detergent at the dollars store.
