First Time at the Waterpark- Tips?
My family, along with the inlaws are going to Dollywood's Splash Country this weekend. We've never been before and are looking for tips, on what to take, I know that you aren't allowed to bring in food or beverages, so we'll have to eat there, but any other tips would be welcome. Thanks.

I don't know about that park specifically -- but when we go to parks like that, we pack our lunch in a cooler and leave it in the car. . . most places like that have a way for you to get your hand stamped so you can leave and return to the park on the same day.
So we pack our lunch, leave the park and go to the car for lunch, then return for more fun.
Don't forget to apply lots of sunscreen -- and reapply frequently. The tops of the ears, and the feet are important too (even if you're wearing Aqua shoes. Dh and I got sun poisoning from not covering our feet in sunscreen when we went, and we had Aqua shoes on)

I agree
Sunscreen, aqua shoes and I like to wear nylon shorts over my suit cuz' the ride / seat surfaces are too rough for me.

I totally second (or third) the aqua shoes!! Those cement surfaces can be rough/hot on feet. Another thing to consider is that if you don't have someone watching your stuff all the time, leave ALL your valuables at home (wallet, etc) or you will have to pay a huge fee to rent a locker.

We go to Shipwreck Island in Panama City Beach and Disney World's Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon frequently. I love waterparks!!! I do not have any additional advice, just wanted to say that I hope you have a great time!!!

I second bringing your lunch in a cooler to leave in the car. We do that when we go to SeaWorld, and it really makes a big difference in the amount we spend.
You might want to bring one of those waterproof disposable cameras. Oh, and a small ziplock bag will keep your money, sunglasses, etc. dry during the rides. Another good thing to bring and leave in the car is a dry change of clothes, in case the weather turns cool. I'm cold natured, so even in sunny Florida I always bring a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt that I can go out and get once the sun sets.
Have lots of fun!!

Sounds like fun. We haven't been to a water park in several years. Be sure to keep reapplying the sunscreen. Also don't forget the sunglasses.
Have fun!!

I love water parks! I usually take all the stuff previously mentioned..esp. lunch in a cooler that we leave in the car. I also take band aides and neosporin, one of the kids always ends up with some sort of scrape. Also a book for me when I just want to lounge while the kids play in the wave pool.

Thanks everybody for all of the great tips! We had a blast, and I loved your tips, esp. about the aqua shoes. I would have never thought about getting them, and they really helped our feet on all of the hot concrete and decking material.
We saved $24 dollars on admission, because Dolly allowed the Ronald McDonald house to sell the tickets for that one day, and instead of the usual $33 ticket, they were only $25, plus a free t-shirt,and The Ronald McDonald house got all of the proceeds from the ticket sales.
