    Default new game..keep or toss

I'm going to periodically list some items and you tell me if you'd keep it or toss it. If you keep it, tell me what you do with it or plan to do with it and how many you're willing to keep.

This is based on staring at our old baby gate and how I kept it even though it was broken, but finally tossed it.

    Here we go...

    Old magazines

I would toss it. But not before first going through them and seeing if there was anything I wanted to keep.

    I keep them.

Before we moved, I threw a bunch away, but before I did I went through them and kept all the recipes. I have about a dozen left, and they're just on a bookshelf. I usually use them for crafts and stuff, but I try not to keep more than a dozen at a time.

I donate my old magazines to the local nursing home, their activity director uses them for different things.

I keep them for collaging, art journaling, and, because mine are often fibre and art instructional magazines, I also keep them for inspiration. I file them by month in those archival magazine boxes. So I only have 12 boxes on my shelf in the studio.

Any extras get given to charity or sold to a secondhand bookstore.

send them to your local hospital or even schools. The school can use them for art class or research.

I give all of my old mags to my mom for her waiting room. Nothing worse than sitting in a doctor's office with just Field and Stream or Golf Digest to read.

She goes through them and gives her housekeeper some and puts the rest out in her office.

I guess to make it more interesting, we could share ways we could use them even if we don't personally keep them for that purpose.

I toss some after a few months, but I go through them in case there's something I want to keep.

Last night I just tossed two boxes of old magazines.

Last year I tossed 3-4 boxes of old magazines.

My mom gives me her old magazines and I just go through them as soon as I get them and cut out recipes or craft things I like. After a while, I go back through the cut outs and toss again.

I toss them. Funny you asked this question because I just tossed 5 old magazines out. I hate the clutter. If I visit the doctor or dentist office, I take one with me that I am reading. If I finish it while there, I leave it behind for someone else to enjoy.

When I was pregnant and had frequent doctor appointments, I used to bring my mags with me, read them in the waiting room and leave for the next person.

Now all my subscriptions have run out but one, and I like it better that way. No pressure to read them all, or feel like if I don't that I've wasted my money.

I pass them on to other family members to read if I am around home. If I am traveling, I leave them in airports and/or hotel rooms for others to read

I wanted to add, if anyone has any keep or toss items they want to start a thread with, go ahead.

I just gave away a bag of magazines to some friends who will be at home this summer with their kids. I did toss a few that I pulled some pages out of.
