Keep or toss: egg cartons
What do you do with your empty egg cartons?
I usually keep mine for kids. My girls scouts can use them for a project or I will give them to the preschool at DD school.

I keep about a dozen or so, the rest go in the compost. I have them for the kids to play with and crafts. I did start seedlings in some, but I am a terrible gardener and accidently left everything outside in the frost.

I save them for my amish friend. She sells eggs and can always us extras. So when I ship her a box of canning jars I cushion everything with egg cartosn.

The paper pulp ones get composted. I try not to purchase the foam cartons.

I either return them to the health food store, which returns them to the farmers for more eggs, or I take them to the Food Bank and they reuse them.

You have an Amish friend! That is so cool! Their simplicity of life is so wonderful...I truly admire them.
Ok, I would vote for burn them (if you have the ability to...we burn all cardboard for heat at night...yeah, Alaskan summer nights can get pretty nippy...should be 70+ today, though!).Kace - married to Dh 12 years

I save them for the recycling man - who gives them to a local farmer - who uses them to give eggs to the needy, we also use a few for crafts, seedlings in the spring, etc.
I have at least 10 in the garage at the moment that need to go to the recycling man
thanks for the reminder!
