    Default Keep or toss: hangers

If you get any of your clothes cleaned at the dry cleaners or purchase something and the hangers are left on, do you keep the hangers?

I toss all wire hangers, because I can't stand them. My DH also loves to give me a hard time and calls me Joan Crawford (Mommy Dearest). However, I will usually keep hanger for my kid's clothing.

I throw out plastic hangers, wire hangers, shirt hangers, pants hangers - any hangers. We have so many it does not matter to me. Just this past week I threw out over 50 hangers - all different kinds. I could probably go through all of the closets and laundry room and toss another 50-75 of them.

I never seem to have enough hangers. I just bought a 12 pack today (Dollar General. $1.).

I never seemed to have enough hangers either. I only keep the plastic ones. It seems once their in the closet they disappear, kind of like the socks in the dryer.

No more wire hangers!!!!! I toss the wire ones. I can't stand them either. Most of our hangers are inexpensive wooden ones from Ikea.

I get rid of the wire ones. We never go to the cleaners, so we don't get many. I love the plastic ones.

we recycle the metal ones most of the time, but haven't had anything dry cleaned in about 10 years, so they just don't find their way into our house.

We keep all plastic hangers. The wire ones we use to hang clothes from washer in the house. I prefer the plastic ones if we had dried the clothes outside on the line.

I sell my wire hangers at garage sales and church rummage sales. Dry cleaners love picking them up dirt cheap that way. We don't have anything dry cleaned, so these are hangers from Mom's place or from years ago.

I use mostly plastic and wood hangers. Lately though, I've had more plastic hangers than I could handle, due to cleaning out Mom's place, so I gave away all the coloured ones and just kept the white ones. I had no trouble finding people to take them.

The wood ones I use in my front hall closet to handle the big heavy winter coats and such.

I don't bring home hangers from the stores. I tell the associates to please keep them or I take them off myself and hand them to them. We have so many that we don't need any extra! I do not use the dry cleaners except right before winter to have our coats dry cleaned, so I don't accumulate many hangers from there either.

I once donated hangers to the Goodwill.

I get rid of all wire hangers. I hate them! I'm not crazy about the ones that sometimes come home from the store with new clothes, either. I mostly use those plastic tubular hangers. I have a few of the nice, but cheap wooden ones from IKEA, too.
