Don't use hot water to soak pans that have cooked eggs or flour products. The hot water will further cook the food and it will stick so bad.

    Teflon doesn't count.

I always thought I didn't like radishes and then ran into a recipe that called for grated ones on top of herbed cream cheese - I love them in small doses!

    Fave food - cheese!

    Cooking Tip
When I make lasagna or other casseroles I always make 2.
My theory is cook once eat twice.
This is great for those days when you do not have time or feel like cooking.
Take out of freezer, thaw, insert into oven.
No mess and no guess as to what to make.

Mine is lasagna in a crockpot. I use raw noodles (any cheapo kind) and 2 jars of sauce. Grease crockpot. layer food and 4 hours later yummy lasagna. I being the kitchen rat that I am have also made lasagna in my crockpot in a cooking bag. EAsiest thing ever and clean up was a snap. You can use raw cheap noodles dont pay extra for the "no boil". Double your liquid and bobs your uncle and he is a eatin lasagnie tonite.

Make your own BBQ sauce, it is so much cheaper and healthier than store bought. Taste better too.

Always spray a measuring spoon or cup with a bit of oil before using it with something sticky like molasses or honey. The sticky stuff slides right out.
Make your own Pam by putting canola oil (or other favorite oil) in a new clean spray bottle.
For easy cleanup and no-stick on the BBQ, mist a couple of sprays of oil on the grill, then wipe down with a clean cloth to spread the oil around.

I've been adding sugar to my boiled corn on the cob for years instead of salt. I also add a little sugar when cooking with tomatoes (fresh or canned) as it helps reduce the bitterness.

Unsalted fresh or dried peas and beans will cook quicker. Salt after cooking.

To beat the whites of eggs quickly, put in a pinch of salt. The cooler the eggs the quicker they will froth. Salt cools and also freshens them.

To prevent pancakes from sticking, rub salt over the griddle with a piece of bread before greasing.

When cooking onions, simmer a small amount of vinegar on the stove top to rid the house of the unpleasent odor.

Recipes for making your own tomato products.

Tomato juice: For 1 cup juice: 1/2 cup sauce = 1/2 cup water
Tomato paste: For 1/2 cup paste: Simmer 1 cup sauce till reduced to 1/2 cup.
Tomato sauce: For 2 cups sauce: 3/4 cup paste + 1-1/4 cup water.
