I was reading the post by jaded on how she makes her burgers. Share how you make the perfect burger.

To 1 lb. lean hamburger meat, I add one envelope Lipton Onion Soup mix and a little worcestershire sauce and pepper. Make into patties and grill or broil in the oven.

I guess we are "purists" we don't mix anything, not even salt or pepper, with them. We do use 78% ground beef & hubby grills them to perfection. A lower fat content meat makes burgers too dry for our taste.

My famous
burgers: 1lb lean ground beef, one large handfull of oatmeal, one egg, one envelope onion soup mix, one can diced green chili peppers. Grill or pan-fry as desired.
Personally, I think topping a good burger with steak sauce and sharp cheddar cheese makes it perfect. Oh, and if you're wondering, I added in the oatmeal when DH's cholesterol was high.

My tip is that if you are mixing add-ins to hamburger, don't overmix or you will get a tough burger (same goes for meatloaf).
My favorite burgers at the moment are horseradish burgers ~ 3 or 4 tbsps of horseradish and a splash of Worcestershire sauce mixed in lightly and a slice of sharp cheddar added to the top ~ yum-o!Nancy
