Default Tips For Makeup On Clothes?

I accidently got eyeshadow and mascara on one of my favorite tops. It's 100% cotton and it's an off-white eggshell color, so very light and very easily stained. Any idea on how to get it out without ruining the shirt?

~If liquid eye makeup remover works for eyes, won't it work on your shirt? I'm just speculating because I rarely wear makeup. Hope someone else is more helpful.~

I also thought that liquid eye make up remover would work.

The only problem with eye makeup remover, is that most of them are oil based. If so, it will leave grease spots on your shirt. I don't have any tips for you, sorry. I have a black work shirt that I can't get a foundation spot out of.

I found making a paste of dishwasher powder detergent and hot water and scrubbing the stain with an old toothbrush worked. Years ago my daughter my daughter got make up on a shirt of mine, and this worked. Not sure if you have a dishwasher, or maybe you can borrow some powder from a friend who has a dishwasher.Good luck.

Try Dawn dishwashing detergent. It will take grease out of things that have gone thru the dryer even. I keep a bottle above the washer. I dampen the area, give it a little squirt and rub it good and throw it in the wash. Check before you toss in the dryer or hang up. Once in a while it takes a second treatment.

Hope it works for you. I take make-up off the collars of my tops all the time with it.

I also use dawn on all greasy laundry stains. I've used it for years and it's never let me down. Listen, it will get wheel bearing grease out of a white pair of cotton panties (Don't ask, lol, it's a long and boring story) it will get mascara out of your blouse.

I get a product called "awesome" at the dollar tree. It works wonders on almost all stains and won't leave any greasy spots. Good luck!

Call me silly...but I don't think the grease on the panty story sounds boring at all.

I keep a bar soap for laundry called Fels Naptha (it's old fashioned) in the laundry room. You can find it in the laundry aisle at the store or sometimes folks who don't know what it's for put it in with the regular bar soaps for the body.....

Anyway, I take any scrub brush and wet it, pass it back and forth (re-wetting as necessary) along the bar till I have a bit of suds, then scrub gently the stain till it is broken up, if not gone. Then launder. A bar of Fels Naptha lasts me for about 5 yrs.

I also agree with using Dawn, if it's an oily stain.
