How do you dispose of cooking grease?
Curious how you get rid of grease like bacon grease?

Maybe I'm supposed to be doing something eco-conscious and terrific with mine, but I put it in a coffee can and toss.

If I have a can I pour and toss. Most of the time I get a couple of grocery bags and put one in the other, then I put several layers of newspaper in the bag and pour the grease on top so that the paper soaks up some of the grease. I tie the bag tight and put in the trash.
Of course you can not do this with hot grease! LOLRobbin

I save bacon grease for us in cooking. I've got a tupperware in the back of the refrig. All other types gets poured over dry dog and cat food. My pets love it and it keeps them clear. No hairballs here.

I double bag and throw away. I am thinking it would attract lots of critters if I were to compost?

~I save my bacon grease and use it to flavor other meals. I re-use my frying oil 5 or 6 times before tossing it. So every other month I toss oil. I usually pour it into a baggie and put it in my kitchen trash can. I always thought grease/oil was harmful to a compost pile. Now I have to check to see if that's a myth....~

We're lucky, we rarely have any grease to throw out. But usually I toss it into a bottle or can and when that's full, I toss it.

I use a margarine container (with a lid) and keep it in the freezer. When it is full I throw it out.
