Default Using Coca Cola to Clean a Toilet

I read on a tips website somewhere that pouring a can of Coke in your toilet and waiting an hour was supposed to remove rust and other stains. I tried it and it didn't work. Has anyone else tried this?

No, I've never tried that but I don't buy coke or soda. I use powdered cleanser like comet or ajax and the toilet brush to clean the toilet if it's really dirty.

Nope. I use Lime-a-way. Our municipal water is not too good, and so it is a problem here if you skip a few days of cleaning.

You have to ask yourself if Coke is recommended as a domestic household cleaner, then why on earth would anyone drink the stuff?

To me it would be the same as drinking bleach.

I use Coke to clean jewellery, coins, and to get the oil stains off the concrete where hubby's car has leaked. Works a treat.

I agree with you Oz! We got several 2 liter bottles and soaked some rusted cast iron skillets in it...the coke cleaned up up in about 2 hours!! They look like new!

coke is actually what most police have in the trunks of their cars to clean up bodily fluids off the pavement.

my dh was a disaster cleanup tech...(he was the body and flood guy) used coke to clean up most. yuck.

I never thought about dumping it in the toilet. Heck I love it too much.
